Hosea Youth Services

Hosea 11
4 I led them with cords of human kindness,
with ties of love;
I lifted the yoke from their neck
and bent down to feed them.

                                                            Since 1995

Hosea Youth Services

has been “on the map” for local

and transient homeless kids.

In the beginning, summer of ’95, we just wanted to make sure some homeless kids got at least one decent meal a week. . .

We were certainly naïve, but the kids soon taught us just how much more

was needed.

Today, we’re still learning. . . Happily, we’ve

been able to increase our services to them adding;

more meals, clothing, blankets, personal hygiene supplies, as well as laundry and shower facilities,

all in an atmosphere of respect and acceptance.

For many, most importantly, Hosea is a place to rest

a while from their scrambling to “make it happen.”

   A meal and much more . . .

    Bible studies and a Friday evening Worship

    Service known as Ragamuffin Church are

    key elements of our offerings to the kids.

   Well attended, these weekly events are a big

   comfort and motivation to tackle uprightly the

   numerous dangers and difficulties of life on

   the streets.

“I lead them with cords of human kindness,

with ties of love; I lifted the yoke from their

neck and bent down to feed them.”

To the left, you'll see a photo of a painting that our Organizer Mike Langley painted. Its titled, Get a handle on it.  Reflecting our Lords teaching on the Lillys of the field, right above Jesus's sweeping hand is an old, rusted door handle.  This often causes our kids to reflect how much our lord cares for the least of these.  How they too, can get a handle on it.
